March 26, 2014 3:37 PM Spring Out of Your Office For a Pot Panel

By Ed Kilgore

In contrast to what’s happening in parts of New England, the weather is warming up in the DC area after what everyone profoundly hopes is the final snow storm of the season. By Friday, the temperature should reach the 60s.

So it’s a good time to get out of your office and attend the Washington Monthly/New America Foundation event on Friday on how to keep cannabis legalization from succumbing to a corporate takeover and perhaps even a public health disaster and a political backlash.

To refresh your memory, the event features two writers from the new issue of the Monthly, Mark Kleiman and Jonathan Rauch, along with the Washington State ACLU’s Alison Holcomb and National Families in Action’s Sue Rusche. Like any discussion on marijuana, it should get lively.

You can register for the event here. It will take place from 9:30 - 11:00 AM at NAF (1899 L Street NW Suite 400). Streaming video will be available here at PA. Please check it out one way or another.
