April 28, 2014 6:02 PM Day’s End and Night Watch

By Ed Kilgore

Sorry for a brief typo-fest this morning (and thanks to Blue Girl for cleaning up). I was very groggy, and will try to crash early tonight to bank sleep for tomorrow.

Here are some remains of the day:

* Getting worse every minute for Palin. Writer at National Review’s The Corner calls her “baptizing terrorists” remarks “barbaric.”

* “Kissing congressman” from Louisiana won’t run for re-election, but won’t resign, either.

* At Prospect, Matthew Duss looks for “Plan B” if two-state solution for Middle East abandoned.

* At Ten Miles Square, Jonathan Bernstein points out last presidential nominee with fewer than three previous electoral contests was Ike, who had just conquered Europe. Cruz, Paul and Warren all have just one in the rearview mirror.

* At College Guide, Anne Hyslop reports Washington first state to lose waiver under “zombie” No Child Left Behind law.

And in sorta non-political news:

* Sponsors beginning to drop Clippers as ripples spread from Donald Sterling’s racist remarks.

That’s it for Monday. Here’s an appropriate closer from Roosevelt Sykes: “The Night Time Is the Right Time.”
