May 02, 2014 5:26 PM Goat’s Head Soup

By Ed Kilgore

If you’ve been following the controversy over legal challenges to Oklahoma’s sanction for a Ten Commandments monument on the State Capital grounds, justified because it was built with private rather than public money, you may be aware a Satanist group raised some money to set up a competing monument in Oklahoma City, albeit in anticipation the courts would probably get rid of both. Well, the goat-headed monument to Old Scratch has been created, and it will soon be Game On in Oklahoma as solons struggle to figure out how constitutionally to ban it while maintaining the Ten Commandments edifice.

I’m guessing they won’t be able to thread that needle, and will agree to take down the Decalogue to avoid Statehouse visitors being confronted with a statue of two children gazing up in adoration at the Father of Lies.
