June 17, 2014 11:42 AM Administration Submits Some New Testimony on Benghazi!

By Ed Kilgore

Now this is an interesting turn of events that will likely create cognitive dissonance among the Benghazi! inquisitors:

U.S. Special Operations forces captured one of the suspected ringleaders of the terrorist attacks in Benghazi in a secret raid in Libya over the weekend, the first time one of the accused perpetrators of the 2012 assault has been apprehended, according to U.S. officials.
The officials said Ahmed Abu Khattala was captured near Benghazi by American troops, working alongside the FBI, following months of planning, and was now in U.S. custody “in a secure location outside Libya.” The officials said there were no casualties in the operation, and that all U.S. personnel involved have safely left Libya.

This action, of course, at least partially redeems administration promises that the perpetrators of the killings would be “brought to justice,” and more to the point, kinda moots the endless GOP obsession with who was responsible before and during the attacks, and what that means in terms of the godless wimpy Islamophilia of Obama and Clinton.

Those who have treated Benghazi! as the most important “scandal” since Watergate obviously cannot ignore this capture, lest they look like “truthers” still focused on pre-9/11 intelligence even as Osama bin Laden was being buried at sea in a body bag. Perhaps they’ll put impeachment on hold for a while.
