As Josh Marshall points out, this isn’t (at this point) a TV ad, just a web ad. Still, it’s a sign that Thad Cochran’s campaign is ignoring Republican fears that attacks on Chris McDaniel could soften the challenger up for Travis Childers in November. And it’s a reminder that for all the disadvantages of having a 42-year voting record, as Cochran does, even a brief career in the bloviating, Frat-Boy-Gone-Wild world of conservative talk radio can be worse:
We’ll soon see if this ad or something similar turns up on the TV screens of God-fearing Mississippi Republicans. In any event, it looks like Cochran is no longer campaigning on an implicit promise to give every runoff voter his or her very own earmark.
