With all the discussion about tabloid journalism and investigative indecency lately, we thought it might be worth a look at an article we ran back in September, 1981.

In this piece, by former National Inquirer reporter Jay Gourley, the writer explains how journalism works in the tabloid industry and looks at the difference between what society thinks of the “quality press” and the “popular press.”
